Sol Calero’s Solo Pintura at Laura Bartlett Gallery presented a new series of works that investigated the formal language of exoticism. Known for her immersive installations, this exhibition was a rare occurrence, focusing exclusively on paintings.
While helping to organize this exhibition, I conducted curatorial research and played a large role in media coverage. I was primary press liaison for Latin American media outlets and drove outreach in both English and Spanish, gave countless tours to curators and advisors on Sol’s practice, and edited her work and press portfolios.
